Gene Chips

A number of gene chips for examining gene expression are available including an

• Affymetrix
  • 3' expression analysis array.

The IGGP strongly recommend to submit all the public expression dat to public databases such as NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).

Currently there are publicly available datasets at PLEXdb [1]:

1. VV1 is short-term experiment on Cabernet Sauvignon vines exposed to salinity, PEG or cold. This paper is in press in Functional and Integrative Genomics 7:317-33 [2]

2. VV2 is a long-term experiment on Cabernet Sauvignon vines exposed to salinity and water-deficit. This paper is published in Functional and Integrative Genomics 7:111-134 [3]

3. VV3 is on tissue differences of berries of Cabernet Sauvignon that are well-watered or treated with water deficit. This paper is published in BMC Genomics 8:187 [4]

4. VV5 is on berry development and the effect water deficit on Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Two papers have been published in BMC Genomics 8:429 [5] and 10:212 [6]

5. VV7 is on red wine cultivars Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon naturally infected with GLRaV-3. This paper is published in Functional and Integrative Genomics 7:95-110 [7]
